Flea Markets
Open almost every weekend all year, from vintage and vinyl to bric-a-brac, with Mauerpark as the best-known market.
Flea markets are as much a part of Berlin as the U-Bahn, and on almost any weekend of the year there is somewhere in the city to dig for something. The most famous is the Sunday market at Mauerpark, which mixes secondhand stalls with street food, live music and the well-known Bearpit Karaoke session in the park amphitheater.
For design vintage and clothing, the market on Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain is the better bet, while the market on Straße des 17. Juni leans toward antiques and oddities. Serious collectors and Sunday browsers both do fine here, and haggling is expected rather than rude. Most markets run year-round and cost nothing to enter. Come early for the best selection, and bring cash, since plenty of sellers do not take cards.
